Sun 29th June 1986

Flixton Rd, Urmston , Manchester

Tracks: Wicked Witch of the West, Great White Shark

Another disastrous session, Smith's vocals leak into the backing track resulting in what sounds like a two headed vocalist on the master tape!

Bemused engineer complains about the length of the tracks.

crumbling church (now levelled) between late '83 and July '86

·          HAPPY CONTENT HEADQUARTERS 1982-1985, NOW DEMOLISHED- WE PRACTICED IN THE CRYPT BELOW STREET LEVEL, (WHEN WE WERE N0T ROUND THE PUB)- Casio Smith

Fan comments:

I remember walking past that place one evening with Brainy when we were about 16. The windows were vibrating and there was an 'orrible racket comin from inside. Sounded like somebody was battering the fuck out of an oil drum full of seagulls and frogs with a sledgehammer. Then it all went quiet. Then we heard the immortal line “Up Periscope…………). Two weeks later my brother took me to a gig at the Libra Club, by a bunch of wrong un’s he’d met in a pub called HAPPY CONTENT. Oof. x
